CFO, Real Estate (Vancouver)
Our client is involved in real estate development and has its corporate office located in downtown Vancouver. An excellent position exists for a motivated CA/CGA/CMA to function as their CFO, reporting directly to the Owner and the Board. The successful candidate will act as the key financial person in the company and, in addition to overseeing all the financial affairs, will act in providing strategic direction to the Owner and the Board. Candidates must note, however, that this position is also relatively hands –on as you will only have one staff person reporting to you. You will manage the reporting requirements and the preparation of the monthly financial statements, quarterly and annual financial statements. You will have direction over the company’s accounting policies and assess their internal controls. You will liaise with legal council and regulators and handle treasury issues (including maintaining cash flow) and tax planning issues where required. You will maintain the company’s relationship with the company’s auditors and manage their budgeting and pro forma functions. You must obtain a solid grasp of the organization’s various companies, joint ventures and limited partnerships and review monthly job cost reports and construction loan draws.
