Our client is well established having operated in the lower mainland for over many decades. They are an import/distribution company with their head office in the lower mainland. They import on a large scale and sell their products to major national and regional retailers, wholesalers and food service and manufacturing companies in both Western and Eastern Canada. An excellent position exists for a motivated person to assume a Controller position in their busy company. The successful candidate will work in concert with the President/CEO as a right hand financial person monitoring financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. You will get involved with the financial planning and budget management function, enforcing internal controls, overseeing all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems, examining budget variances, reviewing their debt financing areas, report and financial statement preparation, supervise staff etc. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Controller and previous experience in a distribution/wholesale environment. You should also have a solid understanding of inventory concepts.
