Our client is involved in developing and acquiring industrial and commercial properties, rental housing, multi-family condominium housing, resort developments and seniors living communities and has operations throughout Canada. The company’s mandate is to continue to expand the Company’s holdings through both acquisition and new development. Its head office is based in downtown Vancouver and the need has arisen for a motivated person to assume the role of Controller – Income Properties. The successful candidate will report to the CFO and will oversee a current staff of six property management accountants. You will be responsible for all aspects of property management accounting including the accurate and timely reporting of financial results. In addition, the Controller – Income Properties will be a major contributor to the success of the Property Management group, providing resources to the Vice President, Property Management and his team of property managers, assistants and leasing staff. Specifically, you will oversee monthly operating statements by property, oversee various reconciliations, assist in preparation of budgets, calculate expense recoveries on commercial properties, monitor expenses against budgets, review A/R and other relevant accounts, account for third party joint venture reporting, review lease administration and supervise the property accounting staff.
