Director of Finance

Our client has been involved in the construction/development industry in the lower mainland for several decades and has earned an excellent reputation. They have evolved from a family business into a well respected industry leader in their area of expertise. Their growth has been impressive and they anticipate continued expansion going forward. As a result of their business success, a newly created position has arisen for a motivated CPA to assume the position of Director of  Finance. Reporting directly to the President, you will supervise the activities of the Controller and the accounting/finance department and be an integral part of their management team. You should have a strong organization and financial knowledge of the construction business, including job costing, banking, mortgage and lease financing, as well as project development and real estate knowledge. Specifically, you will oversee weekly cash flows, projected cash flows vs. actual, oversee job costing activities by your staff, prepare bank and financial forecasting, review monthly forecasting and quarterly consolidated statements for the group and prepare and present pro forma statements and requirements for development financing. You will review the company’s accounting software and computer hardware and company benefit packages and policies related to the finance area. You will handle all major banking and loan acquisitions as well as development financing and cultivate their network with mortgage financing and lease companies.
