Assistant Controller

Our client is in one of BC’s most exciting  industries.  Due to anticipated significant future growth an excellent position has arisen for a motivated CPA to report directly to the CFO in a newly created position.  This organization has just opened a large facility and is embarking on exceptional growth.  The successful candidate will act as a key resource to the CFO (there is no Controller) and embark on a number of challenging assignments in addition to undertaking regular job duties.  The company, for example, is implementing a computerized system and you will act as a resource in ensuring that the implementation takes place in an orderly and efficient manner.  You will also assist with the implementation and monitoring of internal controls that protect the organizations assets and conform to the various regulatory and reporting requirements that exist today.  You will be required to supervise several staff and spend some time at the company’s newly opened facility.   Please note that you will initially be required to be extremely hands-on in order to properly understand the accounting systems and procedures that you will be responsible for.  Other duties will include financial statement preparation, designing, monitoring, and implementing the budgeting process, cash-flows, and the procedural flows of the adjusting journal entry and reconciliation process.  Most importantly, however, you will act as the key financial resource to the CFO.
