Well established (50 years in business) and successful LAW FIRM located downtown requires a person experienced in legal accounting to function as a hands –on CONTROLLER. This position offers great WORK/LIFE BALANCE.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Day to day accounting and trust accounting
Review and check billings
Financial Statement preparation including working papers
Prepare salary payroll including ROE’s, T4’s etc.
Review and process A/P and A/R
Finalize and process month ends and report prep
Prepare bank, GL and intercompany reconciliations and post accruals
General financial support to lawyers and staff.\
REQUIREMENTS:
CPA or seasoned person with hands-on experience working in a law firm
Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a law firm
Sound judgement, analytical thinker, good communication skills
Enjoys making a contribution and working in a team environment
Willing to work in hands-on role
